About Me

Namtaan is one of the oldest dogs at the temple. She is the daughter of the old alpha male, who unfortunately passed away a couple of years ago. She took up the reigns of alpha and is now the dominant female at the temple. Namtaan has always been an extremely healthy and active dog. She kept everyone else in place and maintained order at the temple. This all changed one day when we found her dragging herself on the ground, completely unable to use both her hind legs. We took her to the vet and discovered one of her vertebrae was compressed pinching down on her nerves. The cause is still unknown. After weeks of medicines and treatment at the vet, there was no improvement. We decided to take her out and explore some alternative medicine before considering amputation. After about a month of acupuncture sessions we finally started seeing some improvement, and after 3 months of therapy Namtaan miraculously recovered full use of her legs. Namtaan is now being reintroduced at the temple, where she is happy, but always under a high amount of stress from keeping the other dogs under control, and always at the risk of getting hit by cars, which she likes to chase around. Namtaan is sweet, loving dog who behaves admirably in a home, despite never being home trained. She is funny and just wants a lot of cuddles. She will tolerate other dogs, but would be much happier and relaxed as a lone pet.
