After months of being in the works, we are finally approaching the release date of our new WKS Temple Dogs website. First and foremost I would like to thank Sam for setting this up and sponsoring our first year of domain upkeep. I have been wanting to make this website for years, but it seems that I needed a little extra push to actually get down to work and make it happen.
I am certain that there are still a few kinks to fix (especially in the mobile/tablet layouts), so please bear with me and feel free to let me know where something is not working as expected or at all and I’ll try to fix it as soon as possible.
The main reason why we have decided to ditch GoFundMe is to have the opportunity to showcase each dog and focus more on the adoption side of the operation rather than only the fundraising. Hopefully, this website will allow us to reach out to more people and rehome more dogs than in the past.
I am sure that some of you are thinking that this will also allow us to get rid of those pesky transaction fees, but unfortunately, those are tied to the Credit Card management websites (Stripe and PayPal), on which we still have to rely for safe, simple and quick transfers. The only way we will ever be able to get rid of those is if we register as a charity with the Thai government, a process which is long, tedious, and strangely enough (or is it?) expensive. One thing that we will hopefully be able to save some money on though, is international transfer fees, as this new website should be able to transfer all donations directly to my Thai Bank account.
Regardless, this website will be a noticeable step up from the previous, and will also allow us to create new interactive content such as a web store through which you will be able to buy our custom T-Shirts, Gadgets, and a bunch of other stuff as we come up with it.
Once again I would like to thank Sam for getting this all set up, and I hope to see as much support on this platform as we did on the previous one!
